The line-up has been announced for the third Sugar Club charity tribute to The Band's legendary drummer and vocalist.
Now in its third year, A Tribute To Levon Helm returns to The Sugar Club, Dublin, on Friday April 17 and promises to mark the late Band man's anniversary in style with a host of performances from superb Irish acts. The show will feature The Minutes, Gavin Glass, The Lost Brothers, Graham Hopkins (The Frames) and Colm Quearney (ex Lir), plus The Group (Last Waltz Tribute Act) and more to be announced. Each act will perform music from all stages of Levon’s career, from early act The Hawks (with Ronnie Hawkins) through to his final solo output.
After the live entertainment, DJs will play a selection of songs by Levon, The Band and friends late into the night.
Tickets are priced at €17.50 (excluding booking fee) and are on sale now from [link]thesugarclub.com[/link] or by emailing [link][email protected][/link]. All proceeds will go to The Irish Cancer Society.
Levon’s work with seminal outfit The Band includes the classic albums Music From Big Pink, The Band and the era-defining long-player and concert film The Last Waltz. In addition, he had a successful solo career; his last three albums Dirt Farmer, Electric Dirt and Ramble At The Ryman were all Grammy Award winners.
