The Lee Harveys to support The Buzzcocks

This Friday in The Academy...

The Hot Press Newsdesk, 10 May 2012

Local spiky-hairs The Lee Harveys have been confirmed as the support tomorrow night when punk legends Buzzcocks – we’ve told you before, there is no “the” – run through their impeccable back catalogue in the Dublin Academy where you’ll be seeing several members of Team Hot Press in the mosh pit.

Described in this here organ as “music to make you smile but with something a little more menacing bubbling underneath the surface”, The Lee Harveys will be spending June working on their debut album.

Meanwhile with founder members Pete Shelley and Steve Diggle still on board, Buzzcocks remain as potent a live force as ever and can be relied to perform classics like ‘Promises’, ‘Everybody’s Happy Nowadays’ and ‘What Do I Get’ with a vim and vigour that puts many a young punk upstart to shame.

Tickets priced €26.50 are still available.
