The Duckworth Lewis Method, Lisa Hannigan & Villagers confirmed for Meltdown
They're playing the London festival at Richard Thompson's personal behest.
The Duckworth Lewis Method play London’s extremely posh Queen Elizabeth Hall on June 17 as part of the latest Meltdown festival, which is being curated by legendary folkie Richard Thompson.
“Not bad for an unemployed guy from Drimnagh!” notes the band’s Thomas Walsh who also promises other major DLM news in the near future.
Tickets for the gig, which features support from The Leisure Society, go on sale from [link] meltdown.southbankcentre.co.uk [/link] on Thursday April 15 priced £17.50 and £20.
Also appearing at Thompson's personal behest is Lisa Hannigan who lines up alongside Emmylou Harris, Anna McGarrigle, Beth Orton, Linda Ronstadt, Martha Wainwright, Rufus Wainwright and loads more on June 12 for the A Celebration Of Kate McGarrigle gig that’s taking place in the next-door Royal Festival Hall.
The Irish involvement doesn’t end there with Villagers opening for Field Music on June 15 in the Queen Elizabeth Hall.
