The Aftermath in bus crash
The Aftermath have been forced to postpone several tour dates after a lucky escape on Friday night.
Their tour bus crashed on a wet road in Westmeath, landing all four members of the band and two of their crew in hospital.
“We really thought that this was it – game over,” said shaken lead singer Johnny Cronin afterwards. He described the crash as ‘like being in a tumbledryer’.
Although drummer Michael Cronin injured his shoulder in the crash, Johnny was adamant that “like Def Leppard, the show must go on”.
The band were spared further harm as they were all wearing seatbelts, but some of their equipment was damaged in the smash.
They are now on the hunt for a new bus and hope to be back on stage in Dublin’s Crawdaddy at the weekend in support of their new single, 'All I Want Is For You To Be Happy' which is released on Friday.
