Following on from their recent Olympia sell-out, The 1975 have been confirmed as the star turn at this year’s Bushmills Live event, which takes place in their north coast Antrim distillery on June 12.
“We’ve never played a show in a distillery before so it’s a first for us,” enthuses lead singer Matthew Healy. “We’ve gigged all over the place but to play a festival like this, in a setting as unique as this, will be pretty special.”
Having started off as four indie-minded Mancunian kids, the band have suddenly started displaying stadium-filling tendencies with America going particularly gaga for their eponymous debut album.

To celebrate the launch, Bushmills have commissioned two local artists to create the world’s largest barrel oak headphones, which stand at over 10ft high.
