That Petrol Emotion for Electric Picnic
After much will they/won’t they speculation, That Petrol Emotion have confirmed that they’re reconvening for an Electric Picnic appearance on August 30.
They’re also playing a low-key – until now that is! – warm-up in the Dundalk Spirit Store two days earlier, which will cost you €25 to be present at.
Formed by John and Damien O’Neill in 1985 after leaving The Undertones, the band produced a string of classic albums – Manic Pop Thrill and Chemicrazy arguably being the pick of the bunch – which flirted with the lower reaches of the charts but never achieved full commercial lift off.
Joining the O’Neills on stage will be Steve Mack, TPE’s Seattle-based singer reknowned for his peroxide dreads and dayglo Hawaiian shirts.
