Ireland has a new perfect pop band to fall in love with.
Having won the hearts and minds of the HP Newsdesk with their two MySpace tracks, ‘Brick For A Brain’ and ‘Order’, Talulah Does The Hula play Crawdaddy, Dublin (March 25 + Jabbas); Psychotic Reaction @ Crawdaddy, Dublin (27 + Sweet Jane); and Whelan’s, Dublin (April 26).
“Born,” they tell of us, “of a mutual love of the tropics, pop music, harmonies, bouffants, sex, sunshine, outdoor drinking and Phil Spector”, their ranks include ex-Chalet ladies Caoimhe and Paula, Jessie LA and Miss K who served time with Neosupervital and a drummer of unspecified origin called Mike.
All in all, the perfect pop pick-me-up for these recessionary times we live in.
As for the aforementioned Neosupervital, they’re road testing their new album with visits to Upstairs @ Whelan’s, Dublin (March 17); Cyprus Avenue, Cork (27); Upstairs @ Whelan’s, Dublin (April 24); Markree Castle, Sligo (May 2); and Roisin Dubh, Galway (21).
