The last minute cancellation by The Sugababes at Dublin's Olympia Theatre on Saturday night was due to 'illness' according to promoters MCD and NOT as alleged by the Daily Mirror by "an almighty catfight backstage".
Rumours continue to abound that backstage saw Keisha Buchanan and Heidi Range nearly come to blows with only an intervention by 3rd band member Mutya Buena [pictured right by Liam Sweeney @ Witnness '03] stopping the affray escalating. This is supposedly what resulted in Saturday's show being cancelled TEN minutes before they were due to start - with patrons actually in attendance. Sunday's scheduled show didn't happen either.
This is the latest in a series of rows that have blighted the band. Before Heidi Range was part of the trio, original band member Siobhan Donaghy left the band, tearfully accusing Mutya Buena and Keisha Buchanan of ‘excluding her’ through ‘use of a secret language’. Seems that this seemingly infantile behaviour may well contribute to their downfall.
Apparently, the concerts are due to be rescheduled in April, with the new dates being announced tomorrow, Tuesday March 9th. This at least pours some cold water on the rumour that Saturday night's alleged bust up was for good.

However, until the trio are onstage together again, rumours will persist that the Friday night show at Killarney's INEC could be their last!
Promoters MCD conclude in their statement that
"... all tickets will be valid for new dates, unless inconvenient in which case tickets can be refunded at point of purchase. The promoters would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused."
