Stuart Clark to speak in Cork today
His experiences in Haiti will be topic, as part of a Friends Of Concern event.
Hot Press Assistant Editor Stuart Clark is in Cork today, Tuesday March 27, for a special Friends Of Concern event in The Clarion Hotel, which kicks off at 7pm and is open to all interested parties.
Stuart will be talking about his recent visit to Haiti for the second anniversary of the earthquake, which killed 230,000 people and left a further 1.5 million homeless.
To coincide with the meeting, we’re giving you another chance to read his frontline report from Port-au-Prince, which details how Concern and other relief agencies are bringing about real change in the Caribbean country.
Haiti’s ongoing security problems were underlined earlier this month when radio journalist Jean Liphéte Nelson died from wounds sustained while driving through the Cité Soleil area of the city.
In January, Maxime Alcius was shot dead by three gunmen whilst driving reporter Anthony Lapeyre round town – Lapeyre working for the station, Radio Metropole, that Stuart had appeared on just a few days earlier.
