Ace producer Steve Lillywhite and UK chart-topper Newton Faulkner are the latest major names to be confirmed for the Music Show, which takes place in the RDS Main Hall, Dublin on October 2 and 3.
A huge hit at Oxegen – not least in the Hot Press Signing Tent where he proved himself to be a complete gentleman – the 25-year-old guitar virtuoso Faulkner will be giving a Guitar Masterclass on the Saturday. Anyone who's witnessed him performing his magnificent solo cover of Queen’s ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ will want to be there to see just how he conjures all that guitar magic.
Also sure to draw a huge crowd is Steve Lillywhite, the Grammy Award-winning English producer whose barnstorming CV includes Simple Minds’ Sparkle In The Rain, a plethora of U2 albums, including Boy, October and How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb, 30 Seconds To Mars’ This Is War, Talking Heads’ Naked and many, many more – including, of course, The Pogues' Christmas classic ‘Fairytale Of New York’ and the rest of the If I Should Fall From Grace With God album.
Another A-List producer bound for Ballsbridge is Andy Gill who – when not recording and touring with the seminal Gang Of Four – has shared a studio with the likes of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Michael Hutchence, Therapy?, The Stranglers, The Young Knives, Killing Joke and, most recently, Fight Like Apes with whom he assembled the brand new Irish No.3 album, The Body Of Christ & The Legs Of Tina Turner.
Meanwhile, CODES join a coruscating Music Show live stage line-up that already includes Republic Of Loose, Damien Dempsey, Fight Like Apes, Mick Flannery and The Cast Of Cheers – with more big names to follow!
The Music Show, presented by Hot Press in association with RTÉ 2fm, runs from October 2nd-3rd in The RDS, Dublin. Saturday 2nd October 10 am - 6.30 pm, Sunday 3rd October 11 am - 6 pm.
