Video hosted by Jason Byrne and Aisling Bea also has contributions from Jack Dee, Jimmy Carr, Rich Hall and Sean Lock, among many more...
In what is one of the most moving contributions to the Same Sex Referendum debate, Stephen Fry has issued a heartfelt plea to the Irish people to vote ‘Yes’ on Friday, May 22.
In the video, Fry speaks in Irish. And while his pronunciation might not pass the Tomás de Bhaldraithe test, the message comes across loud and clear – all the more so because it is expressed in a language which reactionaries in Ireland have tried to hijack.
The video is introduced by the gorgeous Aisling Bea and the (equally lovely) Jason Byrne, who hams it up good-o throughout. In addition to the hosts, the full list of contributors to what is a fine, short piece of work reads Stephen Fry, Jack Dee, Trevor Noah, Sean Lock, David O'Doherty, Romesh Ranganathan, Katherine Ryan, Sara Pasco, Alan Davies, Jimmy Carr, Russell Kane, Rob Beckett, Rachel Riley, Jon Richardson, Kevin Bridges, Rich Hall, Danny Bhoy and Josh Widdicombe.
