Despite numerous protests...
Controversial West Coast rapper Snoop Dogg has been granted an Australian work permit and given the all clear to play a series of shows across four cities Down Under.
The 42-year-old hip hop mogul was the topic of protest among several Australian feminist groups, who were attempting to stop the rap star from entering the country. The Collective Shout Group were backed in their attempt to have Snoop’s visa taken away from him by a petition containing over 3500 signatures.
“Snoop Dogg’s lyrics glorify violence against women,” the organisation wrote on its website. “As a society which claims to be serious about eradicating violence against women, there should be no place for recording artists who glorify misogyny and degrade women for entertainment.”

The feminist group then turned its attentions on Australian federal immigration minister Scott Morrison, by pleading with him to revoke the U.S rappers work visa.
Despite the controversial protests, it has been confirmed that Snoop Dogg has already been granted his work visa, and is due to perform as one of the headline acts at this year's Big Day Out festival in Australia, which takes place on January 19.
