With ceilis, air-fiddle, artists and music, the festival will ensure that Sligo is live and kicking this October bank holiday weekend.
Think ceilis can’t be cool? Think again. Held in the award-winning nightclub The Velvet Rooms, this year’s Sligo Live Sessions kicks off with winners of the Senior Ceili Band competition, Inisfree Ceili Band and The Dartry Ceili Band, just daring you to do your best Riverdance impression.
The festival runs from October 21 to October 25, with a line up including Jeery Fish and the Mudbug Club, Garmmey award winner Mary Chapin Carpernter, Tiff Merritt, Llyod Cole and the Lost Brothers, and the Alan Kelly Quartet.
The October bank holiday festival will also feature over 250 artists, all day café culture sessions, trad sessions, street markets and entertainment including magicians, face-painting and the always popular Air-Fiddle Championships.
