She announced this morning that the big day is tomorrow.
Having featured on The Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show yesterday to promote her forthcoming album, this morning Sinead O'Connor decided to call in with some additional, very big news.
"Tomorrow, as you may well be aware, is my birthday," she told Dempsey. "Myself and my boyfriend are getting married tomorrow, on my birthday."
The singer went on to explain that her boyfriend, Barry Herridge, had had a "crisis of conscience" post-show and insisted she call in – "He loves your show. If this leaks out and Ian Dempsey asked you that question and you didn’t tell him, he’s going to shoot himself!"
Her decision to tie the knot for the fourth time signals quite the change of heart – in an interview in the current issue of Hot Press, she didn't seem too keen on the idea of marriage.
Speaking to Olaf Tyaransen, she said: "I've been married three times, really I should only have been married once. And no-one should be married more than fuckin' twice, to be honest."

"I think maybe I'm a bit romantic. I'm not now, though, after three fuckin' times. But when you're a girl you're brought up with all this stupid fuckin' marriage business. Some man's gonna come and make everything grand and it's gorgeous."
The wedding takes place Thursday December 8, Sinead's 45th birthday. It goes without saying that we wish her the very best in her new union.
The new album from Sinead O'Connor, How About I Be Me and You Be You, is released on February 20.
