Hot Press' writer-at-large will sit down with the masked funnymen in Trinity College...
Next Tuesday December 13 marks the third battle of wits between Limerick surrealists The Rubberbandits and our own Olaf Tyaransen when they sit down together for what promises to be another eventful chat.
The evening will be hosted by the College Historical Society, the debating society of Trinity College. The Hist has previously hosted guests as diverse as Noam Chomsky, Tommy Tiernan, Salman Rushdie and Roddy Doyle and are delighted to be hosting this creative and highly accaimed duo. As for Olaf, well he's more than ready for the latest face-off.
"I'm really looking forward to Trinity," he says. "This will be the third time I've interviewed The Rubberbandits in recent months. We did a public interview in the Hot Press Chatroom at Electric Picnic '11 and then met again at the Galway Comedy Festival for the current issue's cover story.

"Even so, I doubt there'll be any repetitions. Despite all appearances to the contrary, Blindboy Boat Club and Mr Chrome are two of the most original and quick-witted interviewees I've ever encountered. The hardest thing about talking to them is keeping a straight face."
You can read Olaf's incredible interview with the Bandits by picking up the bumper Christmas/New Year edition of Hot Press, featuring the Christmas-fied twosome on the cover, on shelves now.
