The film will focus on the band's early touring years between 1960 and 1966.
Apple Corps, White Horse Pictures and Howard’s Imagine Entertainment have announced that will produce the documentary on the touring years of the Beatles, when the band made a name for themselves throughout Europe and the United States. The documentary was made with the cooperation of Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Yoko Ono Lennon and Olivia Harrison.
The touring years were the ones that sparked Beatlemania, seeing the band rise from playing in Liverpool to shows in Hamburg and across Europe before a 1964 appearance in the Ed Sullivan show turned them into international stars.
By the time the band played their final public show at Candlestick Park in San Francisco in August 1966 they had played 166 concerts in 15 countries and 90 cities around the world. The documentary looks at how the band exploded in popularity during this period within the context of the changing world around them.
