Ryan Adams and Interpol also debut high in a fresh-looking Top 10.
Plenty of new entries to shake up the Irish Album Chart this week. The legend that is Robert Plant sees his tenth solo album, Lullaby And... The Ceaseless Roar come roaring on to the chart, in with a golden bullet at number one. The former Led Zeppelin frontman has recently suggested this may well be his final release. If that's the case, he's going out on top. He plays The Ulster Hall, Belfast, on November 23 and Dublin's Olympia Theatre on November 24.
Just below Bob, an artist at the start of his career. Now on the chart for 16 weeks, Sam Smith's debut In The Lonely Hour goes from third place to second this week. It trades places with Ed Sheeran's X.
Last week's number one, Derek Ryan's The Simple Things is at No. 4, while Ryan Adams sees his self-titled LP round off the Top 5 at the first time of asking.
There is another new entry just below that, as El Pintor by Interpol is at No. 6. It's been a busy week for the suited and booted New York band, having given El Pintor's opening track 'All The Rage Back Home' a striking airing on The Late Show with David Letterman (check it out below) and chatting it up a storm with Hot Press' Craig Fitzpatrick about touring with U2 and much, much more. That full conversation with Sam Fogarino will feature in a future issue.
Royal Blood and Collabro are at No. 7 and No. 8, respectively, while Sinead O'Connor is at No. 9 and Kodaline are at No. 10.
