Regina Spektor announces Dublin date

Dublin’s Tripod will host New York songstress Regina Spektor on her upcoming visit to Ireland, and she’s not the only one stopping by...

The Hot Press Newsdesk, 05 Jul 2007

Bronx girl Regina Spektor has been attracting a lot of attention lately, with her latest album Begin To Hope going gold in Ireland.

Add to that the exposure and subsequent radio play she’s gotten from her ‘Hotel Song’ being used as backing track for a massive dance-off in a Vodafone TV ad.

Regina plays Tripod in Dublin on August 30 and tickets are on sale from July 9 at €24.50 from usual outlets.

And it seems that Tripod is the place to be this autumn as former Faith No More vocalist Mike Patton brings his Peeping Tom group to Ireland on August 27.

The ever-changing Peeping Tom line-up includes a range of hip-hop artists and turntablists, including Dub Trio, Rob Swift, Dan the Automator, DJ Quest and Mike Relm.

Peeping Tom’s 1996 self-titled album also featured Massive Attack and Norah Jones, but no word on whether or not these big names will guest at the Dublin show.

Tickets are €28, on sale now from tickets.ie.
