Williams and Al Gore announce plans for a renewal of the global event for June 18
The veritable dream team of Pharrell Williams and Al Gore have announced that, eight years after the first effort, Live Earth will take place again later this year.
The last renewal of the event saw everyone from Metallica to James Blunt take the stage, and one can expect that the great and the good of the industry will once again be doing their bit to raise awareness of climate change.
On June 18, concerts will take place on all seven continents - including some hardy souls gigging in Antarctica. Williams says he's aiming high: “Instead of just having people perform, we literally are going to have humanity harmonise all at once.”
Line-up details remain a secret, but you can prepare for a non-stop barrage of commitments and confirmations over the next five months...
