We have the pictorial proof!
Saw Doctors fans attending the band’s Olympia gig last weekend got an extra treat when Peter Kay walked on unannounced after support band Frantic Jack to celebrate the release of their The Further Adventures Of The Saw Doctors album.
“I think people thought Peter was a roadie at first, but then he launched unaccompanied into ‘I Useta Love Her’ and everybody started clapping and singing along,” manager Ollie Jennings tells hotpress.com. “He got the crew to wrap the CD in a red ribbon that extended all the way across the stage, and then ceremonially cut it with a pair of shears!”
Relaxing afterwards backstage, the comedian said: “What an absolute honour and a joy to be asked to launch the fantastic new album by the Saw Doctors. My family and I have been massive fans for years".
The feeling was very much mutual with the band’s guitarist Leo Moran observing: "We know Peter is very proud of his Irish roots and his Irish relatives, but for a major star to take time out and to speak so highly of our work is a huge compliment.”
Having already seen The Further Adventures Of… storm into the Irish top 10, the Tuam terrors are about to release a new single, ‘Be Yourself’, which is one of the downright rockiest things they’ve ever done.
