Police in Kent say her death was "unexpected and sudden."
It was with great sadness that Hot Press learned of the death today of Peaches Geldof, the daughter of Bob Geldof of The Boomtown Rats.
Born in 1989, Peaches was just 25 years of age. She was Bob’s second daughter with the late Paula Yates, who died on September 17, 2000. Peaches' death was being described as “unexpected and sudden” by the police in Kent, where she lived. "We are beyond pain,” Bob said in a statement, confirming that his daughter had died. "She was the wildest, funniest, cleverest, wittiest and the most bonkers of all of us. What a beautiful child. How is this possible that we will not see her again? How is that bearable?”
Peaches worked variously as a journalist, TV presenter, model and DJ. She was married to the musician Thomas Cohen, of the band Scum. They had two children together, Astala (1) and Phaedra – who will be one on April 24.
"My beloved wife Peaches was adored by myself and her two sons," said Cohen in a statement. "I shall bring them up with their mother in their hearts everyday. We shall love her forever."
Peaches had previously been married to the rock musician Max Drummey, of the American band, Chester French – but they split after 6 months, before finally divorcing in 2011.
She leaves her husband and sons, as well as her father Bob Geldof and his wife Jeanne; and her sisters Fifi Trixibelle and Pixie and younger half-sister, Tiger Lily Hutchence Geldof, the daughter of Paula Yates and Michael Hutchence of INXS, both of whom died in tragic circumstances.

“Our hearts go out to Bob,” Niall Stokes, editor of Hot Press said. "The love that a parent feels for his or her children is utterly special. And, as a result, there is no heartbreak greater than to lose one of the young ones that you have brought into the world. I know this from our own experiences in the Stokes family, where my parents had to deal with the loss of three of their children. The devastation wrought is impossible to deal with – and yet there is nothing you can do but keep on keeping on, for the sake of the rest of the family.
"Bob has had to deal with a huge amount of grief already in his life – and so it seems desperately wrong and unfair that Peaches should have been taken from her family in this way. For her partner Thomas and her children, the loss will be immeasurable. Our thoughts are with them all tonight."
The full text of Bob Geldof’s statement reads:
"Peaches has died. We are beyond pain. She was the wildest, funniest, cleverest, wittiest and the most bonkers of all of us. Writing ‘was' destroys me afresh. What a beautiful child. How is this possible that we will not see her again? How is that bearable? We loved her and will cherish her forever. How sad that sentence is. Tom and her sons Astala and Phaedra will always belong in our family, fractured so often, but never broken."
