Paul Brady debuts at Indie Chart summit
The venerated songwriter displaces HamsandwicH.
A new number one on the Indie Chart this week, as Paul Brady's Vicar St. Sessions Vol. 1 gets off to a flyer.
A highlights compilation of his 2001 mammoth run in the Dublin venue, it's been selling like hot cakes over the past seven days.
It means HamsandwicH, who were victorious last week with Stories From The Surface, have to make do with a highly respectable No. 2.
It's another case of shoving down a spot for Villagers – Darling Arithmetic is in third position.
Alabama Shakes' Sound & Color and Sufjan Stevens' Carrie & Lowell remain stationery and round off the Top 5.
The next highest new entry is Redemption by Galwegian folk-rocker Seanie Vaughan at No. 11.
