They've also a load of records coming out on their F.O.A.D. Musick label.
Dublin punk stalwarts Paranoid Visions are throwing a launch party on August 21 in Fibber Magee’s for their Black Operations In The Red Mist 2CD retrospective.
Special guest duties are being taken care of by The Defects, the ‘70s Belfast outfit who’ve recently hit the comeback trail and are in action this weekend at the Rebellion festival in Blackpool.
Admission is €12, with punters arriving before 10pm getting a free copy of either Black Operations… or The Winter Of Our Malcontents compilation that’s also out this week on the Visions’ F.O.A.D. Musick label – there are absolutely no prizes for guessing what those initials stand for!
F.O.A.D. have been working overtime recently with Rubella Ballet’s Never Mind The Dayglo (August 20); Setting Off Sirens’ Step Up; and Liz Is Evil’s Failed Philosophy (September 10) all upcoming soon from the imprint.
“The idea from now on is to run F.O.A.D. as a proper label rather than just as a vehicle for our own records,” says Paranoid Visions’ Peter Jones. “There’s still a huge market out there for real punk and hardcore.”
Finally, the Visions open for former Crass man Steve Ignorant when he brings his Last Supper tour to the Dublin Village on November 26. Also on the bill is former Adverts mainman T.V. Smith.
