The Hot Press Newsdesk, 17 May 2002

Catching a few spare moments in between saving the world and being the biggest rock band on planet earth, U2 popped into New York this week for the TriBeCa Film Festival.

The band used the occasion to premiere 'Hands That Built America', the song they've written for the new Martin Scorsese epic, Gangs Of New York.

A 15,000-strong audience witnessed the performance, which was recorded for an upcoming video.

Also in the pipeline is a CBS TV special which will accompany the release of their 1990-2000 Greatest Hits package.
