Set to wrap up their fifteen year career as Orbital, the Hartnoll bros. have been confirmed to play their last Irish gig at Oxegen
Orbital bid a fond farewell to their Irish fans with a Saturday night appearance at Oxegen.
Having decided to go their separate ways at the end of the summer, the Hartnoll brothers will be bowing out with a 'Greatest Hits' extravaganza featuring the likes of 'Chime' and 'Belfast'.
"I think if we're gonna do a last gig we should do a distilled set of all the best stuff we've done," confirms Phil. "And that's what we're gonna do – play all the stuff that's stuck around because they're the favourite ones."
As for why they've decided to bring their techno odyssey to a close, he continues: "I think we
feel that Orbital has run its course. We're both pursuing different avenues with our music. And we've been sat, as brothers, in the same room for 15 years now. I think it's time for a change."

You may get to hear one or two new Orbital tunes at Punchestown, with June 20 seeing the release of their swansong Blue album.
Other new additions to the July 10 and 11 Oxegen bill are Hal, Delays and Goldie Looking Chain, the Welsh hip hop collective who make So Solid Crew look like Blue.
