We all thought Divide's days on the top of the charts were over thanks to The Coronas' Trust The Wire, but it appears Sheeran's latest album isn't dead yet.
Perhaps due to the announcement of Ed Sheeran's 2018 Irish tour on the distant horizon, Divide is back up on the top of the charts again. The latest Sheeran album famously held onto the number one spot until The Coronas released their latest LP, Trust The Wire, back in the beginning of June. Those of us here at Hot Press rejoiced, as we were running out of ways to make Sheeran's reign on the album charts sound like news. It looks as though we might have to get creative again, however, as Divide is back at number one for its second week in a row.
New to the charts and making it all the way to number two is Calvin Harris' Funk Wav Bounces Vol 1. The Coronas still stay strong at number three, and are followed again by Ed Sheeran, this time with 2014's X, which has been on the charts for 159 weeks. Another old favourite to make it back on the charts is Coldplay's A Head Full Of Dreams from 2015, jumping up to number five as Coldplay prep for their Dublin gig this weekend.
At the Brit Awards, Sheeran teamed up with future Longitude headliner Stormzy for a performance of "Shape of You". Check it out below.
