Northern Irish Music Awards winners

The ceremony took place last night.

The Hot Press Newsdesk, 03 Nov 2011

An indecently good time was had by all as the Ulster Hall, Belfast played host to the Northern Irish Music Awards 2011.

Here’s who got to thank their mums, dads and God:

Best Band – Two Door Cinema Club
Best Solo Artist – Robyn G. Shiels
Best Song – General Fiasco’s ‘The Age That You Start Losing Friends’
Best Electronic Artist – Space Dimension Controller
Best Album – Cashier No. 9’s To The Death Of Fun
Best Live Act – And So I Watch You From Afar
Best Video – Cashier No. 9’s ‘Lost At Sea’
Best Festival – Glasgowbury
Oh Yeah Contenders Award – Wonder Villains
Oh Yeah Legends Award – Stiff Little Fingers

We really can’t argue with any of those! Best quote of the night was from SLF who on taking to the winners podium quipped: “Was Van Morrison out when you called him to get this award?”
