His High Flying Birds soar to the top of the Irish Albums Chart.
Choice Music Price winners The Gloaming aside, it really has been Noely G's week, kick-starting his tour with well-received Belfast and Dublin gigs (and confirming a summer date with Cork is to come) and now ending up with a number one album to show for it.
The second album from Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, Chasing Yesterday, is in with a golden bullet in the Irish Albums Chart, bumping Ed Sheeran down into second place.
Mr. Gallagher will be pleased with that in particular, after the playful mick-taking the two have engaged in of late.
It means other young pretenders Sam Smith and Hozier have to make room and move down a place accordingly. In The Lonely Hour and Hozier are now at No. 3 and No. 4. respectively.
Taylor Swift's 1989 continues to round off the Top 5.
The second highest newest entry is Kelly Clarkson. The original American Idol winner sees her Piece By Piece arrive at a very respectable No. 8.
