Dublin power trio New Secret Weapon launch in to 2015 by heading to Studio La Fabrique in the South of France where they've a Mix With The Masters session booked with legendary Nirvana, PJ Harvey and Pixies producer Steve Albini.
“We are analog babies, so we are delighted to be working with a long time hero of ours,” enthuses the band's David Griffin.
According to the blurb, the Mix With The Masters seminars are "are residential, the participants and tutor work, eat, socialise, and sleep in the same environment. While tutors, and participants, will at times opt to retire to their private quarters, there is ample opportunity for social interaction outside of the studio environment. Participants interact extensively with each other and the tutor, making it easier to assimilate the intangible qualities necessary to be successful at the highest level – presence, focus, social skills, intelligence, creativity, right attitude, and so on.
"In short, for seven days participants are able to experience mixing with a master in both senses of the phrase, mixing and interacting with him."
Other heavyweight studio men involved in the initiative are Mitchell Froom, Jimmy Douglass, Eddie Kramer and Chris Lord-Alge.
