Moore landing
Christy Moore is set to play his first London shows in five years.
Aided and abetted by former Planxty colleagues Donal Lunny and Declan Sinnott, Moore plays back-to-back shows at the Union Chapel on September 30 and October 1 and the Kentish Town Forum on October 4 and 5.
The same line-up is also featured on Christy Moore Live At Vicar Street, a 14-track collection which was recorded at the Dublin venue last December and includes killer versions of 'First Time Ever', 'A Pair Of Brown Eyes' and 'Ride On'.
"It's good to be gigging again," Christy says in the sleeve notes. "For a while there it seemed like it was gone. Then down in the Marble City I got a fierce goo on me to do a gig. 36 hours later John Cleere put us on at Cleere's Theatre. We had a rare old time and we've been doing the odd night since. Pretty low key stuff. Songs, tunes and the comradeship of two great musicians all wrapped up in the inspirational atmosphere that an enthusiastic audience can create."
