Mongoose have just released the first single from their new EP entitled 'Four', which will be out on 4 November.
Ahead of the EP release, the new single 'Counting Song”'will be available digitally on 22 September.
This is the follow up to 'Old Friend' which came out in June.
Launching in Whelans on 3 November, the new EP 'Four' explores the fusion of four distinct song-writing styles.
'Counting Song', which was composed by Muireann Ní Cheannabháin, is accompanied by a stop-motion video by Abi Denniston, concept and artwork by Mongoose member Cara Dunne.
The EP contains a song written by each member of the band, subsequently arranged according to their distinct style as a collective.
Springing from four very different beginnings, the songs on the EP show Mongoose's diverse yet unique sound, each individual contribution enhanced through collaboration within the band.
Dublin-based band Mongoose is a musical melting pot, combining the vocals, instrument-playing and song-crafting abilities of four women - Molly O'Mahony, Ailbhe Dunne, Muireann Ní Cheannabháin and Cara Dunn.
The band have been selected as Dun Laoghaire Rathdown's musicians in residence for 2017. This will include three public performances, culminating in a headline show in the Lexicon Theatre on 9 December.
