Mastodon add Irish dates

Mastodon's Irish tour takes in the Savoy, Cork (December 2); Vicar St., Dublin (3); and Spring & Airbrake, Belfast (4).

Tickets go on sale on Tuesday August 12 from Ticketmaster, Road, Sound Cellar, Sentinel Records, City Discs and Plugd.

Given that the Atlanta quartet are playing two nights in London’s Hammersmith Apollo and are on their way to selling-out Paris’ 20,000-capacity Le Zenith, these Irish dates are a rare opportunity to catch them up close.

They’ll be previewing their Brendan O’Brien-produced fifth album, which is expected to drop in early 2009 and include ‘Divinations’, ‘Ghost Of Karillah’ and ‘Oblivion’ among its uneasy listening fare.
