In addition to what promise to be some blistering performances, the Mary Stokes Band will also deliver a couple of special masterclasses, over the October bank holiday weekend in Cork
The Mary Stokes Blues Band have announced a residency in Counihan’s bar, as part of the Guinness Cork Jazz Festival, which takes place over the October Bank Holiday Weekend.
In all the band will play Counihan's Bar, Pembroke Street five times over the Festival Weekend. Kicking off with a 9:30 show on Friday night The Mary Stokes Band will also be perfoming twice daily on the same stage on Saturday and Sunday.

A more laid-back afternoon show is planned for 4pm on both days, with the band returning at 10 pm for another blistering set. Mary, who is one of the leading lights of the Irish blues scene, will also be presenting a Masterclass Lecture entitled 'Singing the Blues: the History, Tradition and Legends of the Blues Singers'. The masterclass will take place in Cypress Avenue, Cork on Saturday 29th October starting at 12:1. Meanwhile, the Mary Stokes Band’s harmonica wizard, Brian Palm, will deliver a
Masterclass, entitled 'Blues Harmonica - Adding that Extra Edge to the Blues’.
