Marianne Faithfull Galway-bound

Ms Faithfull is just one of the artists performing at this year's Galway Arts Festival

Marianne Faithfull, Sharon Shannon and Yann Tiersen are among the musical highlights at this year’s Galway Arts Festival, which takes place from July 11 to 24.

Faithfull will be jetting in from France where she’s participating in the 11-week shoot for Sofia Coppola’s new film, Marie Antoniette.

Appearing alongside her in the period drama follow-up to Lost In Translation are Rip Torn, Judy Davis, Jason Schwartzman, Steve Coogan and Kirsten Dunst who handles the lead role.
