The event, called "The Imp Hour", will see Barq's Jess Kav, RTE's Stephen Bryne and Olympic silver medal-winning boxer Kellie Harrington take part in this discussion on feminism and equality.
Teaming up with her friend and activist, Susannah Appleby, Faye O'Rourke from Little Green Cars has organised the event to take place on January 11 at The Sugar Club, with all proceeds to be donated to the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre.
Speaking with District Magazine, Susannah explains: ”I have always felt compelled to advocate for women’s rights, and to highlight the issues of gender disparity within our society...When Faye called me up while she was on tour, to talk to me about this idea she had about an event, I was so excited! Spreading awareness is so important, it is the way that we can foster change, and change is what we need! It’s important to champion and empower other women, and it’s important to highlight the issues that men face too."
The event will also include Anna Cosgrave, founder of the REPEAL Project, and Carina Fitzpatrick, an active feminist who gained media attention in Ireland for the Free The Nipple movement and her work towards gender equality.
