Check out 'Found A Star On The Ground' in its entirety now.
Taken from their new Strobo Trip EP, split into three parts and lasting a total of six hours, 'Found A Star On The Ground' is the kind of track only Oklahoma's finest psychedelic noise-freaks would ever attempt (they have previous – who can forget their four-CD album Zaireeka, which required the listener to play each on a different stereo simultaneously). The new six-hour song is intended to accompany a strobe light toy, with the plan being to bundled it in conjunction with the physical release.
Sound insane? Even Wayne Coyne himself seems to think so: "Now I’ve realized, it’s insane. When we started doing it, it didn’t seem like it was that big of a deal. So we were like, 'Yeah, we’ll do a song that is six hours long – it will be fun.' But then you get in to it and you're like ‘Fuck, what the fuck were we thinking?'"
Anything else you need to know? Well, it features Sean Lennon, sounds like "the Velvet Underground meets Super Mario Brothers" and its raised money for the Human Society and the Academy Of Contemporary Music, as people donated to have their names included on it.
With that, why not give it a listen. Each of the three parts are below, as is a link to the entire EP.
