‘With a little Help from our Friends’ takes place this September
Legendary Dublin band Lir are poised for a very special and important gig at Vicar St. on Saturday September 24. Joining the iconic rockers on the night will be some heavyweight talent in the form of David Gray and Pugwash.
The evening is in aid of the legal costs Lir have incurred during their long-running dispute with a former manager. Reads a press release issued on behalf of the band:
"The final chapter of the off stage saga that has been the legal proceedings taken against the band comes to a head at The High Court in November after 14 long years.
The action against the band has been taken by a former manager over an alleged breach of contract centring on an ill-fated tour of the USA in 1995.

With vast defence costs to raise, a benefit show ‘With a little Help from our Friends’ has been organised to assist the band."
With former Lir bassist Robbie Malone on full-time four-string duties for David Gray since 1999, the veteran singer/songwriter's presence is a more than welcome one.
Tickets priced €26 go on sale this Friday July 29 at 9am through Ticketmaster and other usual outlets nationwide.
