The Irish music industry is forecasting a bright future for the 16 year-old Dubliner
Having already come under close record company scrutiny here, 16-year-old Laura Isobor journeys to London on November 17 for a showcase at the Infinity Club in Old Burlington Street, WC1.
"It's a regular punters gig which a lot of English A&R heads go to", manager Edison Waters tells Hot Press. "They were willing to come over but just this once, we thought we'd save them the journey! Even at this early stage the feedback and interest is considerable."
The winner of this year's 2FM Jacob's Song Contest, the Dubliner's growing fan club includes FM104's Tony Dixon.
"For the last 20 years I've been playing R'n'B and soul on Irish radio," Dixon reflects. "I've interviewed such stars as Mary J Blige, R. Kelly, Destiny's Child and Angie Stone, but the most exciting of them all is Laura. I'm shocked she is only 16."

As are a goodly proportion of the Irish A&R community. "There's nothing remotely teenage about her voice, which is in the classic R'n'B diva mould," says a major label source. "The only teenage thing about her is her songwriting – it's good but still needs a bit work. That said, she's a great prospect who's likely to be signed sooner rather than later."
