Watch the New York band bow-out on Saturday night
James Murphy's LCD Soundsystem will play their final ever show on Saturday night at New Yorks's legendary Madison Square Garden before their apparent and impending retirement and as much of a cliche 'giving it all up' is in the music community we tend to believe Mr.Murphy on this one (recent quote: "I'm 41 and at a certain point it gets embarrassing"). The band have promised one hell of a bow-out however, with a three-hour show and all kinds of special guests and surprises including support from post-punk pioneers Liquid Liquid.
Tickets for the band's final gig have been hard to procure with prices being quoted at an astronomical $1500, leading Murphy to take to Twitter to call out scalpers, but luckily Irish fans can watch the entire thing on a live stream organised by Pitchfork. The gig will start at around 2am on Sunday morning and can be streamed from here.
The band's Electric Picnic slot last year is still very much the stuff of legend around the HP office so tuning in is extremely recommended. They'll be sorely missed....
