The band are recording new songs in Malibu with her fiance Johnny McDaid.
Hot Press spent some quality Skype time yesterday with Kodaline's Steve Garrigan as part of our Christmas summit.
"I've read the Summit every year since, God I don't know when, so it's great to finally be a part of it," enthused Steve who'd found himself a quiet corner in a Los Angeles studio previously frequented by Frank Sinatra.
"There are gold discs everywhere, but as of yet none of ours," he continued. "The second album's finished, but we've been recording some extra songs here with Johnny McDaid from Snow Patrol and staying in his and Courteney Cox's house for a while. She's really nice and down to earth."
Of course, hers and Johnny's engagement isn't the only big nuptial news, with Steve's bandmate Vinny May getting a "yes, I will walk down the aisle with you!" recently from long-time girlfriend Carina Elliott. Are we in for a double celebrity wedding?
"I think that's the plan, yeah!" Steve chuckles. "Their house is in Malibu; it's pretty swanky and has its own private beach and stuff. It's funny, we went from a studio in County Leitrim straight to Malibu where it's been 20 degrees one day, 25 the next.
"The album's coming out very early next year. We're announcing a tour pretty soon, which again will be early next year. It'll be Europe, then America and we'll probably be doing festivals in the summer as well. We're excited - and nervous! -about this record because we really, really pushed ourselves to change the sound and use instruments and things that we wouldn't have used on the first album. It's quite a leap. We hope that everybody like's it because we love it."
Do those gig plans include a Croke Park double-header with Hozier?
"I don't know where that came from because it's not true," insists Steve who has lots more to say in the bumper Hot Press Christmas special, in shops on Thursday November 27.
