The indie rock band will make an appearance in Dublin’s Wrokman’s Club on July 11, 2017, joined by Martha.
Joyce Manor will hit the UK and Ireland after releasing their fourth studio album Cody last October. Following their critically acclaimed record Never Hungover Again in 2014, Cody is the result of two months in the studio. It provides a mix of emotional pop and punk with the music standing for clarity and creative renewal.
When talking about the new album front-man Barry Johnson said: “It was the first time we really used the studio to our advantage. I felt like I could get a better grasp on what we could do. We always recorded like a punk band—go in and lay ‘em down! Just get good takes! And this time we tried a lot more.”
Joyce Manor will be joined on their UK run by Martha, a four-piece indie punk band.
All four members – J. Cairns (guitar), Daniel Ellis (guitar), Naomi Griffin (bass), and Nathan Stephens Griffin (drums) – sing and write songs. The musical result is impassioned power pop with strong vocals, supported by four-part harmonies.
