Jack White is no stranger to a Record Store Day release but his plan for this year is poised to earn him a place in the record books.
At 10am on this year’s Record Store Day, April 19, White will take to the stage in his own Third Man Recordings’ Nashville HQ for a special once off performance of the title track of his upcoming solo LP Lazaretto. The performance will be recorded direct to acetate before being rushed off to United Record Pressing to immediately start being pressed to limited edition 45s. The artwork on the sleeve of each disc will be made up of photographs taken at the morning’s show.
Once the first batch is complete, the hot-off-the-presses vinyl will be hurried back to Third Man to be sold to the inevitable crowd of waiting White enthusiasts. United Record Pressing have stated they will continue producing the records throughout the day as long as there are still people in Third Man awaiting their copy.

Kudos to White for once again making the most of the fantastic global event that is Record Store Day and reminding us all why we fall for great labels like Third Man.
