“Because JJ…he probably doesn’t remember telling me that my performance was wooden. This was the first day! And I honestly wanted to die. I thought I was gonna cry, I couldn’t breathe,” she added.
“And there was so many crew there, because obviously all the creatures [had stand-ins], and there were loads of extra crew making sure everyone was safe ’cause it was so hot. It was awful”.
Ridley also admitted she has been given some warning from her PR team to be mindful of her language while discussing the film, as fans are attempting to analyse and decode every word she utters. The actress she made the mistake of describing her character as ”solitary” – and Star Wars’ fans instantly leapt to the conclusion that she was offering them a cryptic clue, implying that she might be the daughter of Han Solo.
The actress has apparently learned her lesson, as when asked whether her character Rey was an orphan, she neatly evaded the question with a wink and an enigmatic “Who’s to say?”
