The Coronas grace the cover of our new bumper issue, out tomorrow.
We dive right into the festive season tomorrow (Thursday November 27), as the new issue of Hot Press hits the shelves.
Our seasonal cover stars are The Coronas. Now based in London, the Irish indies-turned-major-players The Coronas return to Dublin to discuss packing out arenas and broadening their horizons. Also, frontman Danny O’Reilly talks about how his split with Laura Whitmore inspired much of the material on the band’s new album.
A Hot Press tradition, Stuart Clark chairs the Christmas Summit once again. Members of Kodaline, Raglans and The Minutes join God Knows, Gavin Glass, Nicole Maguire and Rainy Boy Sleep for a spirited discussion on all the goings on in music and more this year.
His band are over for two Irish dates in December but, before that, Kasabian's Tom Meighan enjoy a flying visit in Dublin, where he tells Craig Fitzpatrick about their Glastonbury triumph, feeling at a creative peak a decade on from their debut and how he wants to be as big as Bono.
Stand-up Ross Noble brings the mirth elsewhere, as he discusses his unique brand of improv.
Elsewhere, Willie Nile, Royksopp, Caribou and Edwyn Collins open up from the world of music, Demon Dog of US lit James Ellroy talks to Roisin Dwyer and, from Psychobitches, Sharon Horgan and Jeremy Dyson chat about the return of their Sky Arts comedy. From Hollywood, comic acting favourite Jason Bateman discusses his big screen roles of late. The Hot Press Interview finds historian Diarmaid Ferriter explaining how the Boston Tapes controversy is a major blow for modern history.
Add in the most generous review section around, all the usual features and much, much more besides and you have perfect stocking filler/way to avoid conversation with the family over the coming holidays.
