We've gone football crazy at HP Towers, and with the big kick-off imminent, we build up to the continental showpiece in style
Maybe it's because the sun is in such stone-splitting form, but there's a wicked dose of football fever creeping its way across the country.
For the next month, eyes will be fixed on France as Euro 2016 roars into action, and Hot Press is building up to the continental showpiece by bringing you a very special, footy-packed issue. We talk to James McClean and David Meyler, two of the boys in green who'll be looking to cover themselves in glory, and get the expert views of Kevin Kilbane, Keith Andrews and Emma Byrne, who tell us why there's plenty of reason for optimism.
Elsewhere, as Garbage return we catch up with Shirley Manson, who's in typically honest form in conversation with Olaf Tyaransen. We catch up with now two-time Ivor Novello winner Conor O'Brien as Villagers prepare to take Castlepalooza by storm, while Foy Vance slows down ahead of hitting the road supporting Elton John to discuss his new album, The Wild Swan.
Star of Me Before You Emilia Clarke tells Roe McDermott about why she needed a laugh after six series of Game Of Thrones, Tony Parsons offers his trademark forthright views as his latest thriller hits the shelves, while Colm O'Regan catches up with the king of horror James Wan, as the director prepares to spook and scare audiences worldwide with The Conjuring 2.
Stuart Clark chairs a discussion featuring a panel of experts – including former Minister for Drugs Aodhán Ó Ríordáin – who consider how Ireland's heroin problem is best tackled, while we also meet the People Before Profit politician who defeated Sinn Fein on their own West Belfast doorstep.
The Hot Press Interview sees Jason O'Toole putting the questions to the opinionated and highly controversial Finian McGrath, while there's also chats with Band of Horses, De La Soul and Laura Mvula.
We run the rule over new albums from Ariana Grande and Red Hot Chili Peppers, pass judgement on the summer spectaculars that were Forbidden Fruit and Bruce Springsteen's Croke Park shows, and even find time to ask whether First Dates really looks like real life.
Add in all the usual news, views, reviews, previews and more, and it's another bumper issue of Hot Press, on sale tomorrow!
