Imelda May for The O2
One night only...
Imelda May’s upward career trajectory continues with the bequiffed singer playing a December 16 show in the Dublin O2, tickets for which go on sale on Friday priced €37 and €40.
Following a busy festival season the Liberty Belle is heading to the States where her Mayhem album has just been released to mostly rave reviews.
Imelda also contributes a cover of ‘I’m Lookin’ For Someone To Love’ to the new Listen To Me: Buddy Holly tribute album which also features Ringo Starr, Stevie Nicks, Brian Wilson and Jackson Browne.
“My brother was a fan and I took a little cassette tape out of his room and it was Buddy Holly, and I went crazy for it," she tells the Spinner website. “There was a little snippet of an interview of Buddy Holly on it. I learned every single word and breath that he took. I learned it by heart. I could do his laugh, everything! I was completely obsessed.”
