Idlewild part ways with EMI
Scottish/Irish noisesters Idlewild are officially unsigned, as their contract with EMI/Parlophone will not be renewed.
A message on the band's website states: "Idlewild would like to announce that after eight years and four albums they have parted company with their label Parlophone/EMI. The band had fulfilled their record contract and it seemed like a good time to move on."
The band released Warnings/Promises in March this year, but their fourth album did not sell as well as expected given that they bagged significant support slots with both U2 and REM in the summer.
The band are still playing a special Christmas show in Glasgow on December 22, which will comprise of two sets: one acoustic and one electric.
