Hilary Woods announces new EP + Dublin residency
Former JJ72 woman Hilary Woods launches her new Night EP with a September 18-20 run of shows in Smock Alley Theatre Boys School. Tickets priced €11 (concessions) and €13 for all-comers are available from [link]fringefest.com/[/link]
Quitting the JJs at the height of their chart-conquering exploits, Woods studied in Seville and London before returning home and recording 2012’s deliciously understated The River Cry album, which was commended by Hot Press for its “beguiling song craft.”
She describes her new material as “intensely personal” and so it proves to be with luscious sounds over compellingly simple beats.
