Green Day for Slane?

According to Billie Joe Armstrong, it may well be...

The Hot Press Newsdesk, 07 Oct 2009

Green Day have emerged as early front-runners to headline Slane 2010.

Talking to Hot Press before their sell-out show in Barcelona’s Palau Sant Jordi last week, Billie Joe Armstrong said: “We know all about Slane and the fact that U2 played some amazing shows there. It’s something that’s being looked at.”

Green Day were on Lord Henry Mountcharles and MCD’s ‘wanted’ list in 2006 but decided not to tour that year.

Armstrong said he’s in regular phone contact with The Edge – “the last time we spoke he was raving about how much he loved Eagles Of Death Metal” – so if he has any questions about Slane he knows who to ask!
