The night will include performances from Housequake and a screening of Purple Rain.
On Friday April 21, a year to the day since we lost Prince, the Grand Social will be hosting a tribute night, with performances from Housequake, a band of some of Dublin's best funk, soul and blues musicians, and DJ sets. The event will take over the whole venue, with a screening of Purple Rain available downstairs, and musical performances upstairs in the loft. There will also be panel discussions featuring Today FM DJ Kelly Anne Byrne and Irish Times music journalist Brian Boyd, who will talk about his experience personally interviewing Prince for the Times.
The event goes late into the night, from 8pm to 3 am on Friday, April 21. Tickets are available at tickets.ie, and, of course, make sure you wear something purple.
